Therapy
Symptoms of mental distress are cues from our unconscious, calling for some transformation to take place. But until it is understood why they had come to our lives, it will not be clear how this transformation should look like. I help my patients in understanding the personal meaning that hides behind their difficulty. Facing such a difficulty is a chance for a new narrative to emerge about who they are.
I have experience in working with many challenging life situations; major life transitions, relationship issues, questions of vocation, sexual orientation, finding oneself and one's creativity. I also work with all kinds of psychic distress; depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, harsh inner critic, obsession and compulsions, ADHD/neurodivergence.
Being sensitive to different cultural contexts and expat life has been central in my career and my own life, as I have worked with patients from across the globe, and I have lived in five countries (Hungary, Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States).
Jungian analysis
“The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate.” – C.G. Jung
As a Jungian analyst, I accompany my clients on a journey to gain a deeper insight into themselves, and to become aware of the unconscious psychic forces that shape their lives.
Such work is about developing an intimate relationship with previously unconscious parts. Besides drawing on psychoanalytic approaches, I often work with dreams, drawings, and spontaneous inner images, to help my clients develop an inner discourse with the unconscious parts that emerge. I also help my clients in doing active imagination. However, having dreams, or knowing what active imagination is, is not a prerequisite to starting Jungian analysis. The unconscious manifests in all sorts of ways; often the most mundane situations or the pettiest of arguments hide the treasure we need.
I am especially receptive to the collective pressures our societies exert, and to differentiating ancestral and spiritual cues that come from within.
Practical Considerations
Sessions
I usually meet once a week for a sixty minute session. Jungian analysis is open ended, and we decide together the length and intensity of our work.
Working Online
I have been conducting online sessions for several years now, and accept people who wish to work with me this way. While online analysis can be effective, some life situations and psychological issues are not suitable for it. I will be able to see during the initial meeting whether I would be able to help you online.
Cost of Analysis
We can discuss the fee during the initial meeting. I work with a sliding scale, so, if it is necessary, I can adjust the fee to your life situation.
I do not work with Swiss Health Insurance providers.
